Well we couldn't find a number but we did figure out that 50 percent of the plants in the grasslands is grass. No duh!

Grasses: Such as, Prairie Clover, Salvia, oats, wheat, barley, and cone flowers.

 

Purple Prarie Clover Petalostemum purpureum

  The mean of the planting sucess is 60%. This beautiful flower's height is 1 to 3 feet tall! The germination is 14 to 30 days. It blooms from May for September. It is a perennial plant. A fun fact is that 1/4 of earths habitat is grassland.

The cone flower (shown on the left) is also known as Echinacea purpurea. It's height can be about 3.5 feet. Fun Fact: You can only keep them in a vase for 5 to 7 days!

 

 

Dogbane is a kind of grassland plant that is not named Dogbane for nothing. It is toxic to dogs and other animals when they eat it. 

When you break the stem it has a white fluid inside of it.  They have smaller leaves then the milkweed, which they are mostly confused with.  New England to Florida these plants sure do get around.

Black oatgrass is an endangered plant, that can grow to about 3 feet high. The leaves are very thin and kind of look like wheat. Their awns are thin and twisted, giving them a very distinctive quality.  They usually grow in the South of Pennsylvania.

This 4 foot beauty called Queen Anne’s lace is annual which means it grows every year. It has a large flat top that is white. It is not endangered, not invasive, not edible, and NOT medical. It is a pretty boring flower.

  1. It is on the verge if either being a forest or a desert. If it had a little more rain, it would be lush enough to be a forest. If a grassland has a little bit less rain, it would become a desert.

Wolf 

Wolves are known for their frightening howling. That's how they communicate. They howl to show their pack where they are. Wolves are the largest in the dog species. Mostly when you think of a wolf, you would think the big bad wolf or the wolf who ate little red riding hood's grandmother, but the fact is, they rarely attack humans.

 

Jaguar

Largest cat in South America. Third largest cat in the world.  Texas and Arizona is where you may find this over sized house cat. Most Jaguars are found in Amazosn rivers.

The rhino have a sort of attack first and ask question later attitude. biologists think that the rhinos quick to charge attitude is due to their poor vision. They quicky attack any perceptionis through smell.
